Good luck from me too, Jo. I will be following suit within a few months if all goes well. Daunting prospect.
Are you a list-maker? I'll be making loads of lists. At the moment I'm trying to get rid of all surplus 'goods and chattels'. Too much stuff that I haven't used for years so lots of trips to Emmaüs and a few annonces on leboncoin. I'm not quite a hoarder but have a tendency to keep stuff 'just in case', 'never know when it might come in handy' etc. etc. It's hard to get rid but makes packing and moving easier and I do think excess stuff clutters up your mind as well as your house. At least you won't be going far so can make several trips. Do you have help organised?
Tell us more about your house for sale. Or send me a PM.

I need to sell my house. It’s going to be difficult. I love this house but I can no longer live in it comfortably. I’m becoming increasingly disabled and can no longer climb stairs.
It is completely atypical. I thought it would be my ‘forever’ home but no. I have painted everywhere, and the tiles in the bathroom are ones I made, I took my inspiration from the floor of Miami airport. So. It is just under 100 square metres. I bought half of the house about 12 years ago. It was ‘Dans son jus’.over time I have renewed lots of it, the electrics are new(ish!) it has double glazing ( except for one door) and central heating. I bought next door about 6 years ago. I had two doors made, and installed a bathroom on the first floor. It too is double glazed. Now it’s one house, but with 2 staircases, two attics and two cellars! ( actually there is a 3rd little cave! Under the balcony!) There is now a kitchen/dining room, a big sitting room( currently my bedroom) and a small bathroom on this floor, along with another space which I will call the buanderie. This has a loo under the stairs. Fine in an emergency! There are also TWO front doors ! One with steps and one without. I forgot to mention that the house is on a hill!. On the floor above there are two small bedrooms (about 10m each) a big room, a super new bathroom, a small office and two staircases, one to each attic! Up one staircase is a large attic which is high. I have made a bedroom here for times when the house was full! I have used it to hang up my washing in winter and for a craft room. This is in my original house. In the other half there is a winding staircase to an eaves bedroom and a small attic. So the house has 4 bedrooms, an office, a big sitting room, a big kitchen/diner, two bathrooms, 3 toilets, a laundry/boot room, two attics and two cellars. The is a balcony and a small outside space attached to the house AND there is about a hectare of garden and woodland not attached but quite close. I just can’t get to them any more… I am looking for about 78000€. This takes into account that the new owner will want to spend some money doing repairs and small renovations. For less than 100000 this is a fantastic house in a lovely spot. As I said earlier I have painted everywhere, which is why someone more ‘conventional’ will need to do some renovations. But if you are prepared to live with it you can have an inexpensive house for not a lot! The house is in a large village just 4km from Tulle. It is on a street, next door to the chateau, across the road from the church and the river, close (but not TOO close) to the main road. Everything you could need within a 10 minute car ride. (And I don’t drive fast!) It is all a jumble because a new place became available just last week so I will put more photos as I can, but if you are REALLY interested then get in touch. Thanks in advance! Jo
I am posting this add which I have put on a Fb site. The price is what I have been advised to ask for.( the houses either sida of me are for sale for a LOT MORE.)

That sounds a lovely spot and I for one would like to live in a one-off artist's house! But big house and huge garden so that lets me out. I can see why you need to move on if you have mobility problems. It must be very difficult for you to manage. Is this a fb page for selling French houses? Could you give me its name please, so I can see what's on offer? Good luck with selling it quickly.
