Prawn cocktail crisps, baked beans, and Marmite - not my challenge, but an American living in England for more than 30 years.

I used to like (well, not mind) them, but the memory of their taste, from 15 years ago, makes me pretty sure that I wouldn't eat them now.

After reading the article I still keep wondering where he managed to find prawn cocktail crisps these days. And what about his comment about the British love of baked beans? "It may be this perverse association with luxury that drives British people to persist with them." Luxury? As far as I have observed after living in England for 31 years they were the "go to" choice for people with the lowest income. Marmite? That stinky stuff should be illegal.

It had the look of an article commissioned by someone with little imagination to fill some space.
