I believe it's called trolling - which is also sick and dispicable.
edit : sorry Houpla, we must have hit send at the same time - this post was for WB

In which case I think it's more a case of shit-stirring than trolling, pretty pointless if it was intended to be that.

In the interest of fairness, as we don't know anything of WB's real circumstances, the vitriol is a bit OTT? Already, Brexit has divided nations, broken up families and destroyed friendships We really don't need this Godforsaken virus making things any worse than they are, do we? Two days from a new, and hopefully, better year?

No-one here knows my reasons for wishing to go over to UK and they remain private. That my original serious post should have produced one or two very sad replies is very sad; as if I would be taking risks with myself and mine or anyone else, but then given the rise in French figures I suspect it may be safer in BJ’s England than here in the Pas de Calais. The hare was a response to some of the silliness and nastiness by the way as my original post was quite serious. As if I would really troll on this subject. But perhaps some might wish to query the vindictive measures of Macron in his state of panic.

I say the above as someone who has been in France 13 days and had zero contact with anyone including Christmas day and who has to travel to the UK again soon, who has been in effective isolation for close to 2 years, no customers, no holidays, 2 years on and its still a very emotive and decisive issue.
So the student with his chinese scooter on the 21st of September this year is one of your "stories" or do you actually have customers.

If you don't need to go, don't go; it's as simple as that. Apart from the risk to you of catching it in a country where the level of self-preservation seems to be less obvious than in France, there's the risk of you giving it to someone else when you come back. Do you think I would want to go there! I would still be there if that were the case.
Instead I spent a fortune on PCR testing and massively overpriced ferry crossing, 4 hour delay at Dover to arrive at an unheated empty building to spend the Christmas period alone having my first contact with a (masked) human being today for one hour after 13 days.
That should show you much I want to go to the UK and that I do so through necessity, also how much the French population is at risk from me!
Yes Wooly it looks like you achieved your objective!

Long term student tenant singular, returned on half rent at the rentrée after being absent most of the time since March 2020 and staying rent free with my blessing for a few odd days, his father a Traiteur has had an even harder time than I.

I didn’t read Woollys post as trolling/ a wind up,no one knows why he wants to go. It’s amazing how many people over the past couple of years have supported people going the other way

Has anyone managed to get to the UK under the current French interdiction? If so, what reasons were accepted and what proof did you have to show/ need? svp. Taken alone, with no explanation (not even a vague one, as I respect people's personal and compelling reasons), the above did tend to suggest to me, at least, thoughts along the lines of, 'I fancy a quick trip back to the UK, is it possible, I wonder'. Given your responses in general to many posts, woolybanana, it's not surprising that some people took it the wrong way.

With Facebook you have to keep up or the authorities will catch on as they look at the same.

Each to their own choice. If they want to travel to UK, it's up to them as long as they isolate and test on return, why not?
I was able to go in September when restrictions lifted for return to France. I was glad to go because I can't see me going any time soon.
It was so nice to see my children and grandchildren whom I hadn't seen for 2 years.
Everyone's choice is they're own, I wouldn't dream of telling someone what to do, or not do.
