That throws up something that's been bugging me for a while: Jouer les whatever. Why plural?? It's referring to one person, so surely it should be 'jouer le or la' whatever. In fact, in the link above, it gives examples of both, but in all the books and articles I've read, it's plural. Grrrrrr....feel a letter to the Académie coming on
