Andrew Bailey is the Governor of the Bank of England. He is asking for UK workers to not ask for a pay rise for two years to help the economy. Mr Bailey earns about £500 000 per annum, it’s all right for some.

He is right but could have put across the message in a different way, if pay rises keep up with rampant inflation then it will just continue to increase which in turn will lead to higher interest rates until economic growth stalls or worst still goes backwards.

Did he not think to ask energy companies and supermarkets not to raise prices?

Often saying nothing is the best option, unfortunately Andrew Bailey chose to state the obvious when it's not what the general public want to hear especially coming from someone who is unlikely to be affected greatly from the raising of the energy price cap.

Oddly similar to Boris saying what the general public do want to hear in order to keep his sorry ass in office. We still hear morons coming on the radio stating that he is doing a good job. It says more about the general public than about him when you think about it. How so many people swallow the BS he spouts and are deaf to hearing proof of lies and genuine evidence of his wrongdoing.
