Not sure if this should go in The Cafe or The Snug.
My annual reminder:
Temperatures are predicted to soar this week, so please look out, listen out for dogs trapped in hot cars when you're out and about. It's easy to just dismiss a dog barking but they could be in serious trouble.
Thanks

I’m dog sitting for a couple of weeks. The dog’s favourite thing is going out in the car so I’d planned a few activities that involve driving. One look at the temperatures forecast over the next few days warned me that I won’t be going anywhere that would involve leaving her in the car, even for a few minutes, until it cools down again.

We don't take ours out in weather like this. I try to explain the reason why he has to stay behind but he just looks at me and gives me that pitiful look.

And if a dog is suffering inside a car, don't be afraid to break the window if a) you've got a witness to the dog's suffering who'll back you up, and b) you've made every effort to find the owner.

You need to contact the gendarmes first. If they can make it to you in a couple of minutes all well and good unless the dog needs rescuing that very minute. If they can't get there, tell them what you intend to do and you have a witness.

I think that would depend on the situation for me, if the animal was in deep distress, the window goes first, then I call the cops……..
