There's an article in todays connection on Second Home Owners and long term visa's but i cant read the item not having a subscription, its saying there are delays in getting appointments for them, does that imply that second home owners are being allowed to apply for LTV. Does anyone know a SHO who has succesfully applied?

Any TCN can apply for VLS-T or VLS-TS irrespective of any property owned in France.
In fact, just owning a property in France is not a pre-requisite, but also owning property does not guarantee the visa will be granted.

I think first you will have to be here for 5 years on a 1 year renewable visa, maintaining the income requirements to show that you are committed.

The French gov were hoping/intending to introduce a special long stay renewable visa for British SHO about now .. it was talked about last year but I think it's met up with some delays snags. As of last year the idea was you applied for the visa in the UK .. as normal .. but then, due to it being 'special' you could renew this new visa here in France in the usual way. It should be of value to bona-fide SHOs if it works out as they intend .. we'll see. |
