I have friends who live in Spain and they want to offer 2 bedrooms to refugees, but they're not sure how to put themselves forward.
I think a couple of members might live in Spain and if so, if you can suggest any links or sites I will pass them on.
Many Thanks

As in France, it is the mayors of where they live who say yes or no and provide support. Enquire there.
There are also, as in France, offices of the red cross in almost all towns, cities.

Yes, it's a good idea to contact the Red Cross.

Apparently it’s organized by the local Prefecture. We have just applied to be a host family for migrants and the form was sent to our Prefecture.

The further away from the epicentre - ie the border towns to Ukraine - it is not as easy and straightforward as one might think. Like with everything good, and here I mean the natural reaction of fellow humans to help out, the rot is never far away. The rot of people traffickers in this case. So there is a vetting process. I rattle around on my property with five spare beds each with en suite and was advised by the Red Cross to get an 'attestation' from my local mayor.
I treat anything that a Brexitland politician utters as brown dribble, but this morning there was some comment on possible security issues for Brexitland by Ireland opening up access in line with the EU, that did make some sense. Sadly I do agree that an aftermath of kindness is going to be dealing with those dregs of society rearing their ugly heads again.

While there is always a risk from the dregs of society, it is important to recognise that Poland (and the other EU countries) is doing its processing as part of the protection of the Schengen borders. That is why there are lengthy queues at the Ukraine border.
