I received this today, it appears Germany has instructed its population to remove Kaspersky AV from their PC's.........
In order to reduce the risk of Russian cyber attacks in Germany, the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) warns against using virus protection software from the Russian manufacturer Kaspersky. The BSI advised that the software from this provider should be replaced by alternative products. A statement from the authority stated that the actions of the Russian military and intelligence services and "the threats made by Russia against the EU, NATO and the Federal Republic of Germany in the course of the current military conflict pose a considerable risk of a successful IT attack tied together". In such a situation, a Russian IT manufacturer could either carry out offensive operations itself or be forced to attack certain systems against its will. Such a manufacturer could possibly also be spied on without its knowledge as a victim of a cyber attack or be misused as a tool for attacks against its own customers.
I am not saying its right, or recommending anyone to do it, but they obviously are concerned with a product that 'auto' updates its databases daily, its entirely ones own personal decision.......
I dont use it, so its not an issue for me
