It looks like they are about to lose there jobs and be replaced with cheaper labour. That could be nonsence but thats what the union is saying.

I hope this isn't the start of the real economic consequences of the past 2 years of fear mongering.

I was just reading about someone in the UK who has collected and purchased a whole household of furniture, plumbing & electrical fittings and white goods to fill their house in France. Poor dude...

My only surprise is that all of the ferry companys have held on so long, there has been virtually zero passenger traffic for the last 2 years.
DFDS already operate foreign crews, they came with the boats they leased.
Irish Ferries recently started the Dover-Calais route and that signalled an impending casualty.
Better this than to go the way of Seafrance/MyFerryLink.

P and O according to twitter will have Columbian crews they are already at the port. I guess they will work for less just do not complain the food is cold or you could end up with a Columbian neck tie

P&O- Owned by an arab. Heavily invested by the Russians. It's an interesting situation.

P&O- Owned by an arab. Heavily invested by the Russians. It's an interesting situation. From The Express "DUP MP Jim Shannon said in a statement today: "I understand that 40 per cent of the holdings of P&O Ferries is owned by a Russian company." According to their website, DP World signed an agreement for the Northern Transit Corridor in July 2021" DP World signed an agreement with Rosatom to develop the Northern Transit Corridor. The purpose of which is to exploit the Artic sea route. Rosatom probably have 40% of that joint venture not of P&O Ferries. www.porttechnology.org/news/dp-world-and-rosatom-join-forces-to-explore-arctic-sea-route/

He has a lot of Ukranian colleagues

If it was my choice, I'd instantly nationalise the whole UK operation. What a dreadful way to treat employees and customers. Cairnryan-Larne must be one of Europe's most expensive crossings, mile for mile. And they can't make it pay?

If that happened in France the workers would lynch the management, and quite rightly too. Appalling behaviour and certainly against UK employment law.
