The transport company. Let me read your opinions please. Mine wouldn't be gracious.

I have done a great deal of online purchasing in recent years. DPD are the worst I have encountered. Even when given full address, easy to follow directions, and latitude and longitude of our location this information rarely gets to the delivery driver. As a result, if it can be determined which delivery service a seller uses, I refuse to complete the purchase if it is DPD. Just try to get an email address or any sort of contact with your nearest DPD depot. Futile.

That's exactly my beef right now. The full address of a large house on an arterial route in a village of around 50 houses with a map showing the juxtaposition of the mairie and La Poste, mobile number and email address. Two failed deliveries and two belated requests for further details. And two wasted days. I've cancelled the purchase and I've just apologised to another company for not completing an order because their carrier is DPD.

Hooooo! I ordered 6 bags of engrais from Germany recently. All was fine until they got to Bordeaux and then the fun started! Despite the usual, explicit delivery instructions, including the 'new' road name and number, the first DPD attempt was a classic 'we tried to deliver but you weren't in' lie. A week passed....one colis was delivered, the other five were still in Bordeaux. Three more days passed....and finally the others arrived. Never, ever again! I'll check with suppliers too, in future.

Not had a problem myself.
Here's a tip that should help with delivery drivers:
Using Google maps (either on you phone or computer), drop a pin on your exact address, make it public and name it with your surname.

I've tried that, as our nearest neighbour has a business clearly marked on GM, and it's impossible to get lost once there. Not one of the other companies has a problem. Just DPD.

I have done a great deal of online purchasing in recent years. DPD are the worst I have encountered. As a result, if it can be determined which delivery service a seller uses, I refuse to complete the purchase if it is DPD. Just try to get an email address or any sort of contact with your nearest DPD depot. Futile. The problem is that you are not the delivery company's customer. This is why it is difficult to get access to anyone at the company except through the automatic (non-manned) system for scheduling the delivery. It is the sender who has contracted the delivery. I have had similar problems with another delivery company. Unable to deliver 3 days in a row even though I was sat by the phone for the 3 days in question. I resolved this by getting back to the company I was buying from (not a small affair so important to the delivery company) and explained that contrary to what they might have thought, I was not out each day but waiting by the phone. The next day the package was delivered with a hand written note on the box - deliver with above highest priority. I guess someone got his b*lls chewed out. I now have another problem with deliveries. Along with many in Lieu Dits, we have now been given a street name and house number. Unfortunately neither Viamichelin nor Googlemaps have been updated. To make matters worse, there is the same street name in another village 15km away but in the same post code area and I have seen Chronopost try and fail to deliver there (courtesy of their tracking systems). If you type my address into their systems you get taken to the right street in the wrong village. Clearly the tracking/GPS system is more important than checking if you are in the right village. I now add the geo-location to delivery instructions.

Coordinates can put the delivery at your front door - providing the seller/carrier/driver knows how to use it.

I've had a notification that my order has been cancelled and an email from DPD saying they'll deliver it tomorrow. Good luck with that DPD, I'm expecting a delivery at the summer gaff tomorrow and that's where I'll be.

My cats biscuits are ordered online, DPD deliver the following day, I find them very good.
On the morning of delivery I receive a text and email with the time of delivery (a 3 hour slot) and they never let me down.

E-mails, yes, they're really good at e-mails My engrais debacle produced a total of 14 over a 15-day period, mostly telling me about fictitious attempts to deliver, or imaginary dates for expected delivery

The story so far... It says parcels plural. It's one parcel, two items. All of that is for one parcel which still hasn't been delivered. I don't suppose it ever will be now.

I've found that since our local commune changed our address all hell has broke loose. Google does not recognise our address but despite that our local Mairie insists that the name change has been properly registered. This must be happening all over France. Our passports were a nightmare. Took weeks to arrive after dispatch, and then they were just put in the box without a signature. And that was dhl, who are generally good.

I understand that the problem lies with Googlemaps - and probably other organisations, who update their systems on an irregular and infrequent basis.
The Mairie may well have informed all and sundry but if they have not updated their systems then as you say all hell breaks loose.
