I think Google maps may very well be the issue here. Nevertheless, if its a widespread problem surely it's incumbent on distribution companies such as DPD to resort to alternatives. Meanwhile I'm going to try to get Google maps to update the info here. God save us from cretins.

Although more expensive, chronopost or just la poste is probably the better option; not some driver who is from (enter the closet big city)& knows nothing of the sticks (countryside).

You couldn't make it up. It's not just France. I'd barely written my last post when I saw this on my phone.
"I was waiting for a parcel coming today. Got a text saying it would be delivered between 3 and 5. They did deliver it, only not to me it was delivered to ***** and not *****. Luckily for me it was Margarets daughter ^^^^ they delivered it to. John knew she was waiting for a parcel and just thought it was hers. Lazy lazy drivers"
The two streets are over a mile apart and their names are not at all similar. Only coincidence sorted that one out.
Don't they train these people before they release them?

Chronopost is the company I have my biggest problems with. They insist in trying to deliver to a village 15km away because they can find the street name on Googlemaps or Viamichelin or whatever system they use, rather than the illiterate driver reading the village name!

I know this is not the site (forum) for new immigrants from the island or across the pond but this might be a - (negative) for moving to the countryside if you do a lot of online shopping and expect door to door service.

Not sure about that ibis. From what I read elsewhere courier deliveries are just as bad on the archipelago and that has little to do with living in the countryside. Hermes have changed their name (due to dreadful publicity) to Evri and already the jokes are out - Evri delivery a miracle if it arrives intact.

If that did not work than a better phrased search might find your way.

I stumbled my way through an amendment earlier. I'll wait to see what happens.
