I have been invited to join a closed FB group, but although the invitation has been sent I cannot find any notification of it to follow in order to join. Can anyone more savvy than I am tell me where I'm going wrong? TIA

I already tried that and it doesn't work because you cannot even bring up the name of the group when you do a search. Evidently it needs an invitation from an existing member. That's been done, but the invitation hasn't 'found' me.

Lucky you. You're far better off keeping away from fartbook.

Normally you can see the invite on your list of notifications and you just click on the 'join' button.

I agree about with PolarEngineer about FarceBook .. even so have you looked in your Spam/Junk folder to see if the invite has been re-routed there ?

What makes a forum like this more superior to having a private account and access to closed groups on Facebook. Given the ultimatum, one or the other, this or any other forum I've been on wouldn't stand a chance. It would be interesting to hear what other Facebook users would choose faced with the same choice. It's no reflection on the forum but the knowledge, information, news etc contained in the forum is eclipsed by the content in Facebook.

Mostly it's full of vacuous nonsense, but it doesn't mean I find nothing of interest on FB. As far as I know, I have no junk folder on FB, just Messenger posts and nothing has come through as a notification.

It always seems to take a while for Facebook site owners to get around to actioning invites.

It isn't the site owner, but a member of the group who has sent the invitation. Evidently, the invitation is only valid for 24 hours, so I think I'll give up!

If only someone had replied to my OP with 'Look further down your notifications list in case you've missed the reply! And there it was! All sorted now thank you.
