His government is embroiled in scandal and incompetence. Not least the revelations surrounding Sunak and his spouse. Boris needs a distraction. That's what this is about. God love you if you're sucked in by it. Probably still trying to keep up the distraction from partygate rather than helping Sunak and his spouse. There is supposedly an inquiry going to happen on who leaked her tax info. I wonder what will happen if they find out it was Boris? Who will be his next rival if they ever get the gumption for a vote of no confidence?

Obviously you are entitled to your opinions as am l - that's what's so wonderful about democracy and yes it was just a joke, in very poor taste but an attempt at humour nonetheless. Not a single thing about the reality of the Holocaust is remotely the same as Johnsons ill chosen words and for you to draw a comparison is frankly unbelievable.

The UK is a little more concentrated in population than these countries so not a very big difference at all.. Plus the 3rd world healthcare over on the island though not a good number, it is reasonable and in line with other countries.

mangetout said Let's face it, the UK isn't exactly renowned for it's treatment of refugees is it? U.K. is renowned for its homing of refugees. The Huguenots, the Jews, the WWII Jews and refugees, the Ugandan Asians, Vietnamese boat people, the U.K. public response to Ukraine et al. It is only a bunch of far right and the current govt that besmirch our reputation

They only count people who have a) been tested positive for covid (when they told people to stay home and not get tested) and b) who die within 28 days of a positive test (regardless of whether they've been in hospital being treated for it and died without recovering from it) so I'm not sure they can claim to have done well at all. They're actively discouraging people from being tested now - they don't want to know or have any more records to be accountable for.

So Boris does one thing that most would agree is honourable and justified by being the fifth president/PM to visit Kyiv and gets headline news
I'm not surprised because it's the first time he's acted this way. Now if only he could be so honourable in every other aspect of his Prime Ministership. Or any other aspect, for that matter.
