I am currently cohabiting with them and adapting well, I am in a caravan in a field in the countryside beside my friends garage who like you embrace them, the hardest thing for me was not going into instant Defcon 3 when I heard their noise, at the hôtel they were a visual, audible and health hazard, they were the enemy that kept returning as soon as my back was turned, now my battle is with ants.
Every species should find their habitat, sparrows are fine in the eaves of your barn or the eaves of my friends garage but if they got through the multicouche insulation and started crapping over all his tools & equipment he would be on the warpath like I was. I doubt that Jackie would choose to share her kitchen and lounge with them.

As well as decimating the population of migrating birds who end up in this dish, the sticky nets catch other migrating birds, according to the article.
The date on the site was December 2011 .. have matters improved since then ? Or got worse ?

I do agree with you that if the insulation on a roof was not properly protected , then it will be eaten by wildlife. I wouldn't share my kitchen and lounge with any birds nor my bedroom with birds, dogs or cats .

Cats are nocturnal , our cat only goes out at night and returns every morning. He is a pretty good mouser, that keeps him busy all night .

Domestic Cats kill birds; does not matter if it is night or day when they are outside.

Some domestic cats kill birds. Not all do. The sum total of birds killed by mine over the years is a couple of wagtails and one robin. However, I've lost count of the number of times I've had to slow or swerve while driving to avoid hitting blackbirds swooping across roads, or pigeons sitting in the middle of the road. Most people don't avoid them. So it's something of a fallacy about cats and birds. Rodents, now, that's another story. Average 6 per night.
