The head of the hunters in Frances says if you want to go walking during hunting season walk at home and stay alive ☺
In 2017 a woman was shot dead in her garden in France.
How do hunters have so much influence in France? there are not that many of them.

I wish I felt safe enough to 'walk at home'.  We own part of the woods on a hillside but I hardly ever feel safe enough to go for an explore. The 'official hunt' has set days but there's no other restrictions and we have what I call 'the lone gunman' who will turn up on odd days and take up position across the valley shooting at anything that moves. We have a major sanglier problem and I'm all for ridding the land of them as my fields aren't immune to the damage they cause but I can't understand why there can't be at least one no shooting day a week. |

On a Sunday it would be nice to have a cease fire. Since there's usually bugger all open a leisurely walk in the countryside could be welcome.

I'm with Aardvark, Brittany (22) there is very little wildlife, a friend who has a trail camera set up in a large wood opposite his house the video camera records all wild animals passing it day and night, over the past ten years the wildlife has declined dramatically. A ban on hunting on a couple of days a week seems a way forward.

Oh well it must be true then, what do I know other than how to read and understand the French language, clearly Frances doesn't.
The amusing thing is that what he actually said was far worse and repeated by most of the French media.

When you take someone disagreeing with your interpretation of something as calling you a liar then maybe it is time to take a break.
For your info I did not agree with the clearly distorted story recounted by the regional journal so I watched the interview on Youtube to find what he actually said in its entirety rather than the words that they cherry picked out of context and then put their slant on them, as I said what he actually was saying was far worse but requires the use of the grey matter rather than reacting to a soundbite.
