I was weighing up the other day if I should get a meal before boarding or go in the restaurant now it is open again, so I messaged via Twitter and asked for a look at the menu, sorry they can’t do that, why not I said, surely in this day and age it’s easy enough even if you haven’t got a copy to ask for a photo from someone on board, we may be able to do that, but it will take some days to get a reply, why, response I need your booking reference before I can do that, I’d already told them the ship and sailing time, I just gave up.

Caroline Lakey head of customer services at Brittany Ferries, lovely lady and has been there 30 years. 01752 635356 or caroline.lakey@brittanyferries.com
I personally would eat before you board or taking a picnic to consume on board seems to be the norm, the self service restaurant has had the same menu for 20 years to my knowledge and IMHO not very inspiring, when we travel from Portsmouth, we call in at the 24hr Tesco and pick up a sandwich meal deal (or maybe two) for the crossing, I think it is £3.49 for a sandwich a drink and bag of crisps, bargain !

@ap is that email you have mentioned a publicised one? Or one you have received in a private communication? She may not want it publicised on an open forum maybe?

On the other hand, it could be a life line for anybody who does not wish to spend an inordinate amount of time listening to recorded messages from computers to dial another number only to listen to another recorded message the last one being ‘ I am sorry our lines are busy at the moment. Please try later’ it does not matter what ‘she wants’ her duty is to serve her company and their customers.

Thanks I’ll try that I accept the point about the maybe private details, but actually as they give such poor service she should be involved.

My OH has just spent a couple of days trying to book a crossing with BF. Kept getting internal error message, etc. Their site isn't fit for purpose. Sent an email but got a response saying they were very busy and it could be up to 21 days to get a reply. They now insist you register, etc. to do a booking but even though she was already registered it wouldn't let her make a booking. She tried to register again but since it already had her email address it wouldn't let her use it again for a new registration. She eventually tried a different browser and managed to get it all to work on the French site.
What a total shower.
