Just to resurrect a popular topic from the last forum. Having this forum start up and seeing lots of the familiar names. Having lunch out in a pub with my wife, son, daughter-in-law and her parents.

Having this brand new forum for us to participate in, when so many of us were surprised/shocked at the demise of the old NFF. It’s so lovely to see so many friends on here.

Agreed. The sadness of the TNFF closure is ameliorated by seeing everyone on here.

It's fantastic we can all keep up with each other, and some new faces too.
Today I went to see some Norwegian Forest Cats with an interest in getting one. They were gorgeous, I will sleep happy tonight thinking of their purrs.

Its darling Mrs Spectrum's 66th birthday today so that's made us both happy. As of yet we don't have a "what are you cooking today" Thread, I will put it here she gets the choice of any food she desires, so back to the 70s, Prawn cocktail, Prawn and Scallop and black pudding Risotto, Autumn berries and melon balls, with homemade Brandy Snaps with fresh cream.

Happy birthday Mrs S. I hope you enjoy your birthday meal later on - it sounds absolutely yummy. What has pleased me today is that the little red squirrel that we saw around the base of our bird table the other day, is back again this morning. It's so very sweet. We can see it clearly from the dining room and the porch without it seeming to be aware of us, but at that distance my phone camera cannot get a sharp enough image to be any good as a video.

My car passed the MOT test but the garage phoned to say that they couldn't deliver it to us until lunchtime tomorrow, having said earlier it would be returned today.
I explained that we have appointments tomorrow morning, so by way of an apology and to keep us as customers he knocked £50 off the labour bill to pay for a taxi this afternoon. The taxi shoukd cost about £15, so the difference will pay for a lunch when we’re away at the weekend. 😃
Edit: the taxi only cost £10, so we made a good profit. 😁

Did a Google translate of "sod's law" and it came up with " loi de merde" That really does sum it up.

We had a refund of electricity payments into our CA bank account, €200, very pleasing.

The briefest of trips to the pharmacy which resulted in me leaving with my brand new Passe Sanitaire.
I'm not used to French admin being so simple - but I wonder why I had to find out about it from a helpful member of this forum .........

Did you not have an email from Ameli informing you that your EU Covid pass was available to download from your Ameli account ?

No. The first I knew was when friends who had their vaccines long after us received emails from Ameli. I wonder if we were so close to the rollout that we missed being included in the data? It seems unbelievable, but I don't know why else we have heard nothing.
It took me ages, but I managed to get Biggles' QR code downloaded. But the same route led me down a blind alley for mine.
