Brilliant! He won once again. We all know this really was about revenge for brexit & once again the remainers lost. He now leads the conservatives into the next election & has regained control of the agenda. Ooeer & Starmer?? Does he walk soon after Durham partygate or stay & do worse than Corbyn. Maybe Lord Adonis, a democrat if ever there was one, for Labour leader? Bring it on.

It seems BJ is among us and presumably planning his exit to France to join Dad.

1. Unless they (the 1922 committee) change the rules. 2. TM had a bigger majority and lasted a full 6 months. 3. 2 Byelections coming up and I predict the results will be bad for the Cons.
But hey, if everything in your garden is roses, why not enjoy the moment.

It's a real head-scratcher for the opposition. They need a lame duck PM in place at the next GE, especially someone like BJ who now appeals only to the crazies, yet they also, for the sake of sanity, need to express continuing demands for the poison of Johnson to be removed from national politics.
One thing the UK needs to be grateful for is that the structure of the political institutions doesn't allow someone like The Convict to accrue power to the point of unassailability. Be in no doubt that an amoral narcissist like Johnson will use any and all means to cling to the illusion of popularity and power.

I get grief on ‘What to you want for tea/ dinner’. my standard reply ’What are the options’ And so begins a debate that can become tense…… Though, nobody has actually lost any limbs yet.

I keep coming back to the fact that the (AFAWK) truthful Mrs May only survived a vote of confidence for 6 months. That gives me hope.
But to know that so many MPs were so shallow as to vote in his favour instead of thegood of our country rather takes a lot of that hope away.
However, I heard fond praise of our current PM last evening. When I mentioned to French friends that the result of the vote was due shortly, she said loudly with a laugh that she loves him, thinks he’s wonderful, a real clown, just like the mad professor stories that her brother used to love so much. Her husband followed wryly with the comment that that wasn’t the best of qualities to have in your own country’s PM!

Best result yet ...... for the opposition . It's about time a new party was started in the UK , which may just emerge once the queen has departed. Obviously something "rigorous " needs to happen to sort out the court jester and his court !
