Can any of you recommend a good online French site with choice for size (including oblong pillow cases) for polycotton quality bed linen. In the past I've always bought from John Lewis, but having been stung for import duties now more than once, I thought I'd try online. I'd really like a good choice of design and colonel without resorting to dolphins and elephants.

La Redoute have a big range but not sure if they do oblong pillow cases. Zara Home have a tasteful range too and I know they do oblong pillowcases.

IKEA A good choice if you have a 2m long bed, not much use for a 1.4x1.9.
Their oblong pillow protectors are excellent but they are twice as big as their oblong memory foam pillows that they sell them beside and at that time the only oblong pillows that they sold.

You could have a look at the Descamps site. Very good quality. They do oblong pillowcases and there are some special offers at the moment.

that was a joke from me... Although i have put together more than you can count the wardrobes, beds, etc from that shop - I have never and will never step into one or have anything in my house from them....

I assume they do French sizes. No, they do uk sizes, but it's not hard to 'lose' 10cm on the length of a sheet if you have a french sized bed Pillowcases fit uk sized rectangular pillows, with plenty of choice of fabrics and design

I'll have a browse of the sites mentioned, too, Veem. I think you'll be pushed to find polycotton, though. That's why I'm hanging on for dear life to my elderly English bedding. 100% cotton is cooler, true, but being able to fold and range polycotton straight from the line gets my vote every time

I have never and will never step into one (Magasin Ikea) I don't mind stepping in but it does my head in trying to find my way out, these days if its one item that I want or items from one area I ask at the accueil what is the shortest most direct route to it and from there to the tills, they usually point out an unmarked door or doors that allow direct passage between the various areas. Even with that info I would prefer to tie off and spool out my divers safety line to find my way back
