I'm in the UK at the moment.
Apparently one the temperatures get over 23°, your dog is likely to die. (Or at least there is a very high risk of death)
They also say you should put sunscreen on your dog.

Sounds like rubbish
It has consistently been over 25 in the house whose owners we are dog sitting for. He looks healthy enough.

Very much so. Dog skin and temerature is much different to humans. There is a high rate of white dogs that contract skin cancer.
It is extreme to say that a dog will face death at a 23 degree temp, but if you look at the scale of their tolerance, it is the front door…

I don't have a dog, but is it good to cool a dog with a bowl of water with ice cubes? After all, it is the tongue and panting that does the cooling

Met some folks on a canal barge recently who had two dogs They simply turned the hose on them; dogs loved it apparently.
My old fella lies in a cool spot in the house on the tiled floor. Would hate the hosepipe.
