Just received an email Lettre d'information sur votre remboursement impots gouv fr The sender - direction generale - if I hover over the sender in the email it is: ne-pas-repondre@dgfip.finances.gouv.fr So this looks very kosher except that the link you are supposed to click on directs you to: mitsubishi-andan3s.com/5345-/That must be a new government department ? The only give away was the usual "for reasons of security the link is only valid for 48 hours" - yes right!! The key point here is that we can no longer rely on just checking the sender email, we need to check the links as well.

Like the telephone démarcheurs they have found a way to present a genuine E-mail address, I get loads that find their way past the spam filter into my inbox & when I hover over the senders E-mail address it is my own! I sometimes send myself a test message if I am having problems so my own E-mail address is in the safe sender list. Unless of course my machine has been hacked & its sending out e-mails to everyone on my safe sender list & the same has happened to gouv.fr
