Feral cats are absolutely part of nature, albeit returning to nature after being bred as domestic cats.
We are all still cavemen/women/pick your own pronoun.

Caravan!
Smaller, colder and with a lower ceiling than the sous sol but unlike the sous-sol not a health hazard .

If you think your nature has not been heavily influenced by humans, you need to do a bit of research. "my nature"? most of the European landscape has been shaped by humans , not much original wilderness left. The normal state of nature is chaos , it is only " us humans" that organise nature to our will . I don't need to do any research , I live in a French countryside valley that was completley shaped by man until they all left to fight the great war. The arrival of cat loving immigrants in our village has slowly decimated the wildlife here .Our neighbours have five and a lovely German lady in the village has 30 non-sterilised cats .
We have one cat , he is from the SPA , only goes out at night and catches mice. I have seen a feral cat catch a swallow in mid air , so no thanks .

The feral cats that are descendants of the farm cats here were originaly from Libya and Egypt . Felis lybica. The wild European cats that have nearly been eradicated by man are a different subspecies. Felis silvestris. I know a little ( ) about cats , having worked in various zoos in my younger days and also having run a cat hotel in Holland where we had 50 cats in the holiday period. As said earlier , I love cats , but I prefer song birds and squirrels . We have enough predators here without feral cats !
