I did buy one this morning. I hope you enjoy it. I dithered too, but I use it as much as the microwave oven and the breadmaker, for *almost* anything that I would use the oven for. Next experiment will be fried swede.

I clicked on a bait link to an article in the Express I think whose headline was on the lines of "All of you who have followed the influencers and bought air fryers are going to find that you have not saved any electricity", after clicking loads of times to remove cookies, refuse to subscribe and closing down all the ads that popped up and obscured the text when it was revealed all I could read was a repeat of the headline title & then it was greyed out Has anyone seen and read it and what did it say? Judging by the other reporting of the power consumption whatever it says is likely to be as accurate as Enedis saying they are switching off hot water heaters at lunch time and it does not affect any other appliances.

However, I think it's possible I may end up not saving on electricity. I normally only switch on my mini oven 2/3 times a week but I'm likely to use the airfryer much more often. Then again, it doesn't need heating up for 15 minutes before reaching temperature. So far I've made chips (of course) and some bread rolls as I had some dough left over. Tonight is my first attempt at chicken breasts. I'm surprised how versatile the air fryer is. I think we're going to get along very well.

We bought one of the Lidl air fryers a couple of years ago and TBH were underwhelmed with it due to the limited control of temperature and time. About a year ago we bought a Ninja Foodi Dual Zone AF300 and it's no exaggeration to say that since then the oven has only been used for keeping food warm and warming plates. Makes superb pork roast with the best crackling every time. Jacket spuds with great skin with no microwaving. Chicken with fantastic crispy skin. I could go on.

Oh, that photo has made me so hungry! Better get on with my chicken breasts. We bought one of the Lidl air fryers a couple of years ago and TBH were underwhelmed with it due to the limited control of temperature and time. I think they've improved in 2 years. Mine has 0 - 30 minutes timer and 80°- 200° temperature and one drawer so quite simple to operate which I appreciate. Hadn't thought of jacket potatoes. Will try them next.

Sounds like the one I got from Noz & returned for a refund, the caissière could smell that it had been used I have not had a proper oven in 17 years, for me they are a waste of real estate in a small kitchen, actually not 100% true, the UK house that I recently sold I occupied after the last tenants, it had a built in oven and I used it for storing the halogen oven in I didn't remove it as buyers want to see fixed appliances even if they are going to rip them all out.

I would like to state here and now despite the popularity of this topic and the fact that numerous people sing their praises I am never buying an air fryer, I predict they will become the foot spa of car boot sales within a short time. Have I a seconder?
