Just tried uploading a photo but bigger than the 1mb allowed. It's gonna be a pain if photos have to be reduced to post &/or put on hosting service before posting as I/we have got used to simply putting up any size photo & old NFF dealing with it.
I realise this is early days & also realise my IT skill are lacking & I might have missed something but will it always be the case that piccies have to be reduced to 1mb max to post?

The attached photo below was originally over 4MB. I used PIXresizer (downloadable here: pixresizer.en.softonic.com/) to reduce its size to 634 KB.

Yeah I realise that this can be done but my question was "will it always be the case that piccies have to be reduced to 1mb max to post?" I was really asking if this can be done automatically on this new hosting thingy with a few tweaks as I'm so used to just pulling a photo off my laptop, tablet or phone & posting without resizing.
I realise you're busy so maybe you can answer this when you have time.

For the moment, that's how things stand. Even certain paid upgrades have a 1MB limit, it stops their servers getting overrun. Effectively, we've moved from a three-star hotel to a bed-and-breakfast, with a dodgy colour television.

Still, look on the bright side. It'll stop me bombarding the place with food & dog piccies On the other hand, if it takes money to sort it, I'll gladly chip in, as I'm sure, would others. Mysty was always telling us it cost the princely sum of c 80 quid a year to run his three-star hotel, mind you, he did have ATS as the chambermaid to keep the place tidy.

The storage packages available are as below, with the prices/month: Copper gets you 2MB, Bronze 3MB, Silver 4MB, Gold 5MB, and Platinum 10MB.

How many photos @say 3 whatsit thingies each does that equate to & is it cumulative, meaning do these MB's stack up unless deleted & cost more & more money each month like some Ponzi scheme? Sorry to be vague.

A new plug-in has been added which will hopefully allow large images - in terms of pixel size, not KB size - to open in the same page. First image is an attachment (and it doesn't open in the same tab)
Image deleted due to enormous size.
This one is added using the Insert Image option (and it does open full size in the same tab, as a scrollable popup)

I think there is an even easier way.....type your post, place the curser where you want to drop the image, drag a photo onto the message, then close the box via the cross top right, then there is an option to place the message inline.........this is on a mac, may not work for all platforms
Edit
Ah it has to be dragged out of the photos app on a mac for that to work, rather than just an image on the desktop or wherever........it seems to auto compress it to the correct size somehow
