Then, he felt the tap on the shoulder. That was because he had got cross threaded trying his wife’s tights on.

Right, back from the parallel universe that is Niftyland, , bats are wonderful! They must have been living in the barn for decades before we converted it. During the works, they moved into the multicouche insulation on the roof and when they were gently evicted from there, they moved into their current des-res under the porch. The small, dry deposits are a tiny price to pay for the free, effective insect control

I am sorry, PE . He (or she) won't give up, though, now they're onto a good thing. Could you have a word with your chasse president?

The prez of the hunt here is our nearest neighbour, a farmer who contested our land at the sale, took us to court twice, spent €25000 minimum on legal costs (land is worth €5000) and lost the case. We are on speaking terms as I would always avoid upsetting neighbours. However, I don't think they could hit a barn door from the inside. I'm at the point of giving up on the chooks as they are old and are only gobbling all the grain. I like to hear the cock crow in the mornings, but the daft sod doesn't realise he is giving his position away to the fox. I let then out during the day as I believe they need to be able to scratch around, but they are quite a way from the house (50m) so foxy knows his chance. I have to build a run that I shall call " fort coqx" with all the protection needed.

In that case, it would be kinder to top the remaining hens straightaway, wouldn't it? A cleaner, swifter end for them and it'll give the fox time to lose interest before you get some new ones.

Moles are my big problem at the moment, I took hours clearing, setting traps and succeeding to catch the bugger ...... or so I thought. It was all quiet for about a week, now I have another 20 molehills which are huge. My husband used to blow the earth back down the holes with water to avoid having a lawn dotted with holes. But it's too cold to do that at the moment so I suppose I'll have to barrow it away and dump the waste under the hedge. Grr...... I hate moles.

Leave em be ! Why do folk want to kill everything ? You kill the moles , new ones just come in and take the territory , an endless circle , same as foxes . Leave the tunnels , rake over the hills and be happy with the wildlife ?

As mentioned before, using a détaupeur, the mole is killed instantly and relatively painlessly. If you remove the détaupeur when it's done it's job, backfill the hole a bit and leave the body in the tunnel, you won't have any more problems for years. The others get the message

If chicken sh1te does not work, why not try stuffing well rotted fish down their holes?
