I have never really adjusted to Windows 10 now they're offering free download of Windows 11. One of its features is that you can move files more easily which would be very helpful. But I don't want to do anything that makes life more complicated. Any advice please?

Be afraid. Be very afraid. On the tech forums I frequent most people say the first thing they do when confronted by Windows 11 is to dump it and return to Windows 10. All you get from any late Windows version is more privacy invasion and less control. If these issues are of any importance to you then do some research first.

I have been on Win 11 for 6 months. It is fine and an improvement on win 10. I wouldn’t go back. The people that complain about privacy are often those that use Google and Facebook.

Happily we are all free to commit whatever form of self flagellation we fancy.

Been using Windows 11 since the day it became available. Excellent OS.
If you have used recent versions of Windows (especially 10) the transition is smooth.

Have been using Win 11 since it's first offering, perhaps 12 months or more, absolutely no complaints or issues to report.

Same here, I am using win 11 and would not go back to win 10. Just wary of the odd bug they seem to introduce with every new update, but then that goes for win 10 as well.

I moved to Windows 11 when I bought new laptop and desk top computers. I had some experience of W10 and found very little difference with W11 though I only use the basic functions and will never know about the deeper features.

I think it's W11 I have on my laptop bought last year. Seems fine to me, though not compatible with my old printer.

Inexplicably they've got rid of the Quick Launch toolbar. You can get round it by downloading some non Windows software, which I didn't like, so Ive cleared the Start menu and added all my file and folder links there. Now 2 clicks to open a file instead of one but it works fine. Not noticing much difference from Win 10 but I turn off most of the Microsoft stuff they offer you!

Win 11 has a quick launch toolbar at the bottom of the screen

Microsoft will be delighted with your whole hearted support. If any of you have a bit of spare time you might do some research. Type this into your favourite search engine. "What is wrong with Windows 10/11?" Some of the answers will inevitably be geeky but if you stick with it long enough the scales will slowly drop from your eyes.

And people comment on my vernacular!
I haven’t really got the time for this sort of thing.
Anyone care to clarify?

I would have though you of all people with a penchant for cryptic statements would understand the term.
