Would you mind quoting the law article reference please.
Were the DIY'ers fined or punished?
If what you say is true then Johnny had better hope for Frexit!
I was replying to the question pcpa.
I will take that as a no then.

I was replying to the question pcpa.
I will take that as a no then. Basically I was replying to , if it was legal to bring and fit , electrical equipment from outside the EU to a property in the EU . Which it is not.

So jonnyd just needs to make sure the socket has a CE mark then. The UK is still in a transitional period for the switch from CE to UKCA so doubt they’re hard to find.

Ive heard of Brits putting all English sockets in their houses too. I believe but I could wrong that if you came to sell the house it would fail the diagnostics. Brits installing UK type sockets is well known in Brittany, as stupid as it is. Failing the diagnostique report does not in itself prevent the sale of a house. It will make a French buyer run a mile or at least start beating the price down to cover a full rewire. And it has been demonstrated more than once that insurers will not pay out if it is discovered that the house has been rewired in the "ring main" system regardless of what sockets are fitted.

We once did a job at a Brit pricks house where every socket was either a UK style BS 1363 or older BS 546. The gezzer had been resident for over ten years, when asked why, he said that he did not trust any appliances that could be purchased in France. Then, with some pride, announced that he had not had to change any plugs for his stuff to work.

Thanks for the explanation, your first line is 100% incorrect.
I have yet to find any electrical product made since around 1992 when CE marking started to come into my domaine that did not carry the CE marking, back then the proper manufacturers submitted their products for testing to have the conformity attested to, the others didn't bother as it was not obligatory, nobody does these days they just have it moulded into the product, put on a CE sticker or even just print it on the packaging, all are permitted under NFC15-100.
I would bet you everything I own against one centime that the UK outside socket Johnny was proposing will have CE marking, as did the batch of shonky light cord switches that I have just disposed of, when pressed the sellers say it stands for China Engineering!

They are all made in China anyway, I fitted loads to my UK property last year, the CE markings will not be removed just because the UK has left the EU, if the product was in conformity with the EU regs it still will be. Frankly most of them are shonky, the 16amp blue caravan socket is a much better idea, its much harder for them to make that incapable of passing the current by cost cutting.
