The bit you copied mentioned two tests in the UK and was actually located above the update on the site.

Well I have DB. As I understand...(we are all vaccinated...kids and all) 1) PCR test before travel (France) not a problem. 2) PCR test day 2 in the UK....problem. I am not paying 85 squid...X3 Also (someone commented on another forum) that you can get a bit of hassle in the UK if you are driving a French reg car.
Given I have a new car, I really don't want a scratch down it.Back to the Med for me. See what happens in Tousaint. This has been a risk for a number of years now but worse since Brexit.

My car is usually locked in a garage when in UK as we use the UK registered one. Not so sure this time though.

If you read the first line you will see it applied to England. There is no mention of the need for two tests in my post. It seems they've now further changed the pages since this morning.

Given that France and the UK are not talking to each other and the DM and the Express drumming up hatred in the UK towards France, what can you do. To be fair, this is a Macron thing. He is hated in France and the UK with equal measure.

I must admit when I looked at your post first thing this AM Elsie like others I thought there was mention of the second test…. That said you are right about the changes being ongoing..HMG seem to now be playing catch up with the editing of the relevant pages and it’s causing quite a bit of confusion. For example there’s still a section in on one of the secondary pages that young persons not resident in the UK but arriving there will still need to quarantine…is that now an obsolete requirement or does it still stand after last nights change? link

I spent 16 weeks in the UK (Scotland and England) earlier this year with my French registered vehicles and didn't have any hassle or problems of any kind. Maybe it's a case of where you are as much as anything else.

It is a fair question. I don't really follow UK politics and that Brexit mess to be honest. French politics is more relevant to my/our life so I am more interested in that. I don't think personally there is much difference between Boris and Macron. They are both as vain as each other. IMHO Trump, Boris and Macron are pretty much the same type of person. It is all about them not about the country. People here won't agree because they are so obsessed with Brexit, but Macron is toxic in France for a reason. Just a note here, we voted (as a household) Macron. Oops. In answer to your question, I would actually go for Boris. I tell you why, because he is easier to get rid of. Or should be. He should have been rid already. But there you go. A PM only last fours years in the UK anyway If Macron wins next year (which he won't I don't think) France is stuck with riots every weekend for the next 6 years. And, nothing will change. I would find that difficult to live with. It really is not healthy for children to watch on TV people smash up Paris (or wherever) and attack police every Saturday. Wait for this Saturday !!! Given that violence has gone through the roof, France desperately needs a leader right now.

You don't follow UK politics yet you can judge the Lying imbecile/ PM in UK is not voted for by the public, they are chosen by the party. It is pollible under the Fixed term Parliament Act they could last 5 years but equally they could last 5 minutes. Macron and France, or should I refer to him as Emmanuel as you are so fond of calling Johnson Boris? I have asked many French from France about Macron. In the French way the shrug and say "hopeless". When asked who they will vote for next time it's "Oh, Macron". It is the French way. If your TV show violence that you don't think is good for your children why not watch something else or switch it off? Act like a parent maybe should. Just glanced st the UK news and see child murder, drive by shooting murder at 2 tyre dealers, 1000 migrants arrive on beaches making a record, covid new cases over 30000, UK tourists rush home from red list countries, women in quarintine to get harrassment helpline, Police failed twin girls who took their own lives aged 16 and 17 having both said they were abused from the age of five, In July South Wales Police gets more 999 calls than ever before. This is just what news is allowed out. Not doing very well is he? I will take Macron over that fool anytime.

You could actually substitute the word 'UK' with 'France' in your paragraph. Because that exact sh^t happens in France everyday. Probably more so. A day don't go by where I live when you don't have a knifing, drug related incident, cars burnt down, a bloke attacking a women etc etc etc So here is a question for you. Which city is more dangerous in terms of population..Marseille or London ?

You know nothing of the "UK" or probably England of which you actually talk about. Having lived in both places London is definetly more dangerous. There are only a couple of areas in Marseille I wouldn't venture after dark, but most of London is off limits at night. Nice has the same reputation, try Manchester, or go local in West Midlands to Smethwick and Neechels, not forgetting the little town of Rotherham! The county of Cleveland has a good rep too. Have you heard of "County Lines"? From your posts I would guess not. It involves primary school age children in stabbings and murders and, of course, drugs. Perhaps you should watch/read some English news and then speak from a position of knowledge. You have in the past with another voice accused peoplke of wearing rose coloured spectacles.

All you have written is the same in France. It is the same. My problem is that peeps keep getting hung up on what is happening in the UK but ignoring the country they live in. That really annoys me. If I was living in the UK I would be throwing my toys out the pram. Make no mistake. But I don't live in the UK. France is in a mess. Big mess. Given I have lived in France for now 23 years, have three young kids, forgive me for not worrying so.
