I planted out some butternut squash plants a few weeks ago and they don’t seem to be growing too well and some of the leaves are turning yellow. Not sure if it’s down to the constant northerly wind we seem to be stuck with here in Brittany or lack of a certain nutrient - I’ve tried feeding them with a general purpose fertiliser. The new leaves they are getting are a healthy looking green though. Anyone else experiencing the same?

Yes, it's not uncommon. They take a little time to establish. Mine have been the same and are only just getting going. Have you tried created a cloche over them, or a windbreak?

I got a very small butternut squash in a plant exchange several weeks ago now. It's stayed alive but that's about it. I left it in its little pot in a mini-serre too long and planted it out only about 10 days ago. It hasn't romped away but is still alive with a little new growth. Fingers crossed.
