I've noticed that edits are showing on posts very quickly. The last few edits I've made have been immediately after checking a post just submitted ie within seconds. Yeah I know I should check by 'preview' but some errors are not always apparent until the actual post is read. Can a delay be incorporated?

Unfortunately, the Preview as it's called here is not the same as the Preview on TNFF, here it claims to show you how the post will appear, but it doesn't really. I'll see what I can find out about delaying the time.

OK, I've added a plug-in which allows 10 minutes before the edits show - is that long enough?
Edited to add that it works!

Thanks. That should be time to pick up the obvious cock-ups.

I am sorry but I do not understand this topic.
Is it because of the time limit to edit and slow reading/ no proofreading?
When I press "create post" it posts and the post is directly in the middle of my screen so I have a look and if there is a mistake I correct it immediately;now I will have to wait 10 minutes or is that the cut-off to edit?

I am sorry but I do not understand this topic. Obviously.
Before, if you edited your post once you'd created it, because you noticed straightaway there was a mistake, your (edited) post showed immediately that you'd edited it; that might have made some people think that you were pretty careless at writing your post.
Now, if within 10 minutes of creating your post you realise that you've made a mistake, you can correct the mistake by editing without the fact that you've edited being apparent to all and sundry.
If you only notice that you've made a mistake more than 10 minutes after creating your post and you edit it, everyone will see that you've edited it.

My french keyboard gets in the way a little.. I should get a spanish computer while I am here as they are closer than this one to what I am used to.
Again, I still do not know why it is - was an issue. I am not ashamed that I made an error and corrected forthwith.

I'll see what I can find out about delaying the time. I haven't seen a Preview option on here. I hit 'Reply'. write my post, hit 'Create' and it's done. I often realise (especially on the games threads) that someone has posted and I haven't refreshed to see their post. I have no option then, but to 'Edit'. On the old forum I could delete and begin again. So I appreciate the 10 minute leeway. Is there perhaps a way to introduce the 'delete post' option?

Not so obvious 'cos I failed to understand.
If someone replies to a post immediately after it is posted and the original post is then edited the reply may make no sense because of the edit?

That is true and could be the case at any time after the post is made, but the point being made in the OP was that editing immediately after posting showed up in the post and that was undesirable, which is why I found a plug-in to fix it.
Perhaps, in light of the point you make, editing could be made unavailable after a certain time - what do you, and others, think of that?

Sorry FFS. I see that I have a Preview tab to the left of my post.

Thanks for that FFS. I hadn't noticed the arrow and therefore hadn't thought to click on it. I've just used the Delete function because I made a mess of replying to your post!
