There are a few senators who are keen for a 6 month visa for people with Maison Secondaires in France since the 90/180 rule came into force, this would allow us 6 months of the year in France not using any of the 90/180 days rule.
There is a questionnaire available if you feel so inclined to fill in for the Senator to gather more info.........
Obs if you live here already it's of no concern, but for us poor folk suffering the Brexshit fallout it is.......big time.

Johnny, there is already a 6 month visa available it is a VLS-T.

This will be far easier to obtain crabtree, the VLS-T is a PITA to get, 2 trips to London, many queues to wait in, and no guarantee you will be given one even though you have spent money, this new idea will just be a formality for second home owners, and probably multiple entry also, which I believe the VLS-T is not?

JD has covered the problem very well. We accept that it may be useful for a one-off long visit but the inconvenience of the process is prohibitive. I have completed the questionnaire and hope it brings about a sensible change for secondaire owners.
Even our vet commented on how many of their UK clients have sold up and left France because the whole set up is no longer cost effective. We are greatly inconvenienced by the 90/180 day rule which makes life expensive and complicated.

The 90/180 rule has always been in place for TCNs, which UK citizens became thanks to Brexit. It is one of the many non-benefits of Brexit. Sure it is inconvenient but thems the rules.
