No chance. What sort of database would that be, there could be millions that have been asked and declined. It would be bigger than the police criminal records department 🤣. So how do you think they might know? It wasn't said in jest. Not that I could give two monkeys.

My FIL is a local high ranking Mason and invited me to join around 2000 a couple of years before we moved to France, I declined and he's never really forgiven me as he took it as a personal snub. Over the years we have been to many Masonic functions and met dozens of Masons so I now have a good grasp of what Masonry is about, it's still not for me.

Maybe very locally possibly, but nothing else

Did you ever ask him why he was a mason? No, in the sixties you was seen and not heard!

My only experience of masons is that they stick together when they probably ought not to.

I have seen old record books where people are noted as being Masons. The Goodfellows who met in my grand uncles pub probably kept some record. If they did and it still exists, finding it would be some achievement.

Not the best speaker who largely states the obvious, but, if you can bear to listen to this riveting lecture for more than goodness knows how long, you might learn somthing. If you do please let me know about it.

crabtree24 I remember finding something that mentioned him several years and computer crashes ago. I seem to remember it was to do with the proceedings or ceremony or whatever. The pub closed down about 1930. He moved to London and according to a late uncle, his nephew, opened or ran a club there. I found that said great uncle died at Norwood in 1944. Nothing to suggest clubs or masonry though. edit. I managed 12 minutes of video above. For about one of those minutes about 8 or 9 minutes in I felt a flicker of interest. It did not last long.
