Very busy this morning, I spotted the score of 1-1 and was so disappointed, tried keeping my fingers crossed but the bowls didn’t get far on the green! 😟 Really pleased with the result, will definitely cross my fingers for the final!

I didn't get to see the game. Esp 1-0 Eng. Well done ladies for getting to the final. One step further than the men in recent history.

England were poor all through the rounds but still made the final, the best team won.
Overall, a WC with some pretty ordinary footy imo, not up to the standard of the Euros.
Ladies football has come a long way though it clearly has a long way to go.
(again, imo).

Spain certainly deserved their win with England unable to match their speed and skills. However Spain also showed the deep seated lack of sportsmanship which was aided by a weal referee. The England team should be congratulated on their recent accomplishments and now need to adjust their technique to achieve future success. That was quite easy for me to say!

Gamesmanship, time wasting and shocking refereeing coupled with an England side in major final that were tactically naive and fell short ? sounds exactly like the men's game to me.
Sorry ladies.

To be fair to Norfolk, comparing the mens game to the ladies game is spoken about a lot between football fans. Men are basically a lot stronger when it comes to football. e.g in the last World Cup the USA won the competition and deservedly so. A few weeks ago in a competition a mixed Womens USA side played a mixed mens side, the Wrexham Dragons, the score was 12-0 to the mens team. An example perhaps as to the different strengths and different styles between the teams. Both kinds should be only judged on their own merits in my opinion.

Hi Jackie, it’s just the physical side of it as omegal says. There should be no difference technically but strength and fitness will usually be the main factor. All the major team sports like football, rugby and cricket etc will always favour the men. I watch a lot of ladies rugby, our local team are the French champions. It’s hard, even brutal at times and it amazes me just how strong these young women are to escape serious injury. Technique helps a lot which comes from good coaching.
