That’s a dreadful situation. I suppose the manager’s decision takes precedence, too. Wishing you and your 100 year old mother all the very best.
i have atrial fibrillation, luckily I don’t have high peaks of it very often.

But there are also various subsidies that can be applied for to decrease the price. I had to provide a financial breakdown of income etc for an elderly friend's application to a Nursing Home here in Morbihan. The cost came down to 2670€ per month with help potentially available if my friend could not pay all the cost. Fortunately with her pensions from the UK and France she could .. just. This was a public EHPAD and not a private establishment. Yes , the maximum quoted for EHPAD I found was €2909 per month , means adjusted aides deducted afterwards. Here , our local EHPAD is €59.94 a day ( why not €60? ) so just under €1800 per month, as said earlier , the price depends on the house price in the area, Paris being the most expensive .

the maximum that is paid per month is €1800 and that is before any subsidies are applied for those that cannot pay. Do you know if property has to be sold to pay fees, once money has run out?

If I understand the system correctly the aide is given and then deducted from the inheritance It is pretty complicated to explain it in a few lines .https://www.pour-les-personnes-agees.gouv.fr/vivre-dans-un-ehpad/comprendre-les-prix-en-ehpad www.service-public.fr/particuliers/vosdroits/F2444

When you research look at the differences between EHPADs .. they are by no means all the same. My elderly friend needed a high level of care .. not the highest, but high, and not all establishments provide this.

Mum stuck in hospital all this week. Why. Because they needed to run tests why her blood pressure keeps dramatically falling when they try to get her up. Except doctors strike. So no tests this week. 100 year old frail woman with fractured hip is now bed bound thanks to the doctors strike. If she’s lucky she’ll have the tests next week!

I have absolute sympathy but unless they (the doctors) stand up and show what is wrong and demand change, in a few years time the likes of your poor mum would not get any tests at all unless she could pay for them because there would be no NHS doctors or technicians because they had all emigrated to countries who value their skills with pay and conditions that recognise these.
