We’re hoping to travel in September too - it will be 21 months since we left our apartment, intending to return 3/4 weeks later, but back problems prevented that and then came C……… . Our intention was to visit last September but infections in France rose too much for our comfort, so we’re keeping fingers crossed this year.
as well as plenty of cleaning that will need doing, we also have painting to do, Michael - more power to your elbow!

Good luck JohnnyD. We remember the "fun" we had refurbishing our wreck in Finistere. One thing we are glad we did was to photo something we had done every day. Lovely memories flood back when watching the screensaver on our geriatric computer here in Selby.

As others have said, it is a very nostalgic and enjoyable time, renovating with no time pressures, I used to love the planning of the trip, purchasing the paint and materials (not quite the same post Brexit) but enjoy the feeling, as said take loads of photos, even put them in an album (old school) you won’t regret it. We a returning to the UK on the 22/8, so as it stands no quarantine but lateral flow tests here in France, done at home and uploaded to C19 testing and certificate emailed back £29 each and we brought them with us, still waiting on the 2nd Pcr test after arrival in UK as it might be scrapped or they might accept the NHS lateral flow tests, which we have quite a few.
I hope to return in September as long as there is no great changes in the rules.
