Our village is in mourning for the loss of its most notable resident.
BZ's bungalow is next to the butcher and Post Office and we'd often share pleasantries or see him cycling along the lanes. He was a thoroughly decent man and contributed some of his time to parochial events. He was particularly keen to support literacy at the local primary school (71 pupils) and his readings and encouragement were a highlight for the children.
I think we are all feeling a sense of personal loss.

Glazedallover - thank you for that link about BZ.
His use of language was always amazing, he made us laugh, he made us think - so many will miss him, but it’s great that we have him on video as well as on paper.

He was indeed. He knew how to connect with people. Positivity breeds positivity. The ability to really communicate with so many is a real gift and he had it in spades.
