Buying in the countryside, would a solar farm close by put you off buying a house there or would you prefer cows. We are buying a house just to re sell but there are plans to build a solar farm about 900 meters from the house. I had a quick google search and there does not seem to be much of a health risk.

It would depend on the visual impact of the solar farm. The ones I am familiar with occupy quite large fields but are almost invisible from the local roads. In their favour is that they do not require frequent maintenance visits and even when they are visited by engineers there is no muck left on the road. As a buyer I would prefer to see the end product in place so I could make a sensible decision. Regarding the cows, we are surrounded by low density cow fields and associated barns and are happy to watch them grazing, blocking the road sometimes and making a mess on the road. The cows are definitely more interesting.

Personally I'd prefer the solar farm.

Personally I'd prefer the solar farm. When the weather is hot cow poo and pee stinks so do some people but that's for another thread.

Some solar parks have sheep in the fields, which I think is an excellent idea.

My preferences would be 1) Solar farm 2) Cows 3) Food crops
Food crops are the worst because of the stink and flies when they spray the muck, the pollution from the chemicals and pesticides, the dirt on the lanes from the tractors, and the almost 24 hour noise during the harvest.
