So yesterday we got our usual late Christmas cards addressed with just our first names and name of the hamlet which always arrive and a suprise letter from a customers insurance company. Short story We gave a house to an agency to sell, they got the full price and I think from memory 9000 in fees the first day they had the house. This was back in July or August. The contracts were signed subject to the buyer getting 100% mortgage He got the mortgage my notaire prepared the contract and sent it to his notaire. His notaire wanted a letter from the tax office saying they would accept the price I was asking for the property as it was a bit more than I paid for the house. I had bought the house from the tax office which is not unusal. His notaire wrote to the tax office in October 2023 and are still waiting for an answer. The agent asked can the buyer rent the house until he owns it, I said no. This letter arrives yesterday from his insurance company saying if I do not complete the sale quickly they will sue me the buyer must have bad or no contact with his notaire the delay is not at this end. No idea why they are contacting me and not the notaires.

Passing on your experience is helpful even if it does not apply to any particular situation in which we may be involved. Thanks.

The insurance company was just following instructions from their policy holder, who obviously is a bit stressed . I had a similar thing happen to me years ago ,some folk just do not understand that officials work 9-5 and have holidays and weekends off
