...but I'm thoroughly enjoying the 'Hundred Championships' where each team bowls/plays 100 balls in 5 or 10 ball overs & the winner is the team with the most runs. Lots of razzmatazz & crowd participation which seems to be pulling the crowds who probably wouldn't watch cricket. Today the 'girls' are playing & boy can they whack & throw a ball. Not for the purist maybe but it works for me.

That seems a very civilised and comprehensible means of introducing cricket to the masses.

I’m, a cricket fanatic having watched my first international team, the West Indies in 1965. Cricket has changed or more like, evolved over the decades with the current offering The Hundred a good attempt to get more people, especially kids interested in the game. Purists poo poo the format but I enjoy it. Good luck to any ideas which spreads the word.

It was 20/20 that to me opened up my enthusiasm, and 100 more so Purists. There is a word that conjures up a picture. We have them in the 60s/70s sports car world as well - maybe the same that like to sit and watch the blocking skills of batsmen afraid to hit a ball.
