As the title says, and it seems that we will get the vote again (including those who have been outside the UK for more than 15 years, provided you have been registered to vote in the last 15 years) - just go here: and click on 'Start Now'.

Kept that quiet!
I've applied but to be perfectly honest I very much doubt I'd want to vote for any party these days.

I cannot say this news excites me in anyway. I am with another as per voting for anyone in the UK these days. I will stick with my French and Moroccan voting rights.

I haven't lived in the UK for 15 years so do not consider it correct for me to vote there.

As the title says, and it seems that we will get the vote again (including those who have been outside the UK for more than 15 years) - just go here: But it says those living abroad can only register if they: "were registered to vote within the last 15 years"

I wasn't registered to vote before I left 22 years ago so I guess I am still excluded. I would vote for any party simply to keep the Conservative pigs out of office in a country where I lived for decades, and where I still have friends and family who are suffering from Conservative policies.

From the link If you live abroad
You can use this service to register to vote (or to renew or update your registration) if you both:
are a British citizen were registered to vote within the last 15 years (or, in some cases, if you were too young to register when you were in the UK)
You may need your passport details.
Although out of the UK for over thirty years, I would vote if it become possible to get rid of what has to be the most corrupt government in my lifetime. We have three sons in the UK who want to get rid of this government which is full of lying, cheating and corrupt MP's.

I (unfortunately) still pay taxes in the UK thanks to my government pension, so I feel the need to vote.

The revised system to allow all British citizens to register to vote should be available from 16 Jan 2024. So wait until next week. Presumably www.gov.uk/register-to-vote will be updated with a link?

It is already open, that is why I started this thread.
I have made the application, and received the acknowledgement email with my reference.

The only family we have left in UK is my daughter so I guess if I did feel inclined to vote I might ask her who she wanted to win and vote for them.

For those who think we should have no interest in voting in the UK remember:
1 as already stated some government employee pensions are taxed in and controlled from the UK. 2 you OAP will generally be a UK based pension (I am sure there will be some exceptions) 3 Your company or private pension will likely be based on the UK stock market 4 all of the above can be influenced by what a UK government - in which you have no interest - and its actions. Look what Truss did for the UK lending rates and stock market
I am afraid that few of us can break away from homeland politics and its impact on our lives.
