I am having trouble getting funds sent via transferwise. This time I have been asked for a document to confirm identity. This hasn't been asked for before (except at the opening of the account). OK, so I click on the type of document and then the option to send the photo. This takes me to the pages on the computer for documents and photos but all the images are not shown. I have re scanned the passport again into a different file and started again. When I click on that file it doesn't show the passport. I know it is there as I can open it normally. So, I went into the section for help with verification. I selected as before and this time I can access the files and was able to send the passport pic. But, returning to the sending money page it is still waiting for me to complete the verification there. So, I am scotché!
Any ideas (not too technical please)

Well I have made the transfer by sending the passport photo separately to the transfer request. No idea why I had the problem but it has been sorted in another way. Must assume it was an occasional update request for identity.

Must assume it was an occasional update request for identity. You must have been very professional in photo taking. Wise has been been very picky with my wife's photos. I'm hoping it is finally all sorted out today so that we can get money across.

We have recently joined Wise because CurrencyFair is now unusable now it has been sold on. My attempts to transfer money with Wise have produced endless problems with identification. At least there does appear to be a customer help service that, on some occasions, read my messages before hitting standard replies. I have managed to transfer two, separate sums of money after a lot of work sending screen shots of bank statements and passport identification. The last effort was a larger sum, not huge, and the transaction stops with no money being sent from our UK bank account. The Wise system has a problem with linking a joint account with the single named Wise account. If anyone can give me the key to operating the Wise system I would appreciate any advice. Thank you

The problem might, just might, not lie with Wise but with your UK Bank. Why ? Our Wise a/c is in my name but I transfer money via Wise mostly from our joint UK a/c to France.
Have a word with your Bank if only to rule that out.

Thanks Sue but I have already been down that route. Our bank can not find any request for the last sum to be paid even though we must have tried about six times. The two test transactions did finally go through though it was not plain sailing. Those are recorded correctly by our bank. We had a long conversation with a knowledgeable advisor for our bank and she suggested a few routes we could follow. The net result today was for us to perform a straight forward international transfer between our bank accounts and accepted the small loss compared with using Wise. We needed the euros today because we will be on the way home in the morning. When I at home in the UK I will work on the problem which is probably teething troubles which should be solved with a bit of thought and persistence. I will report back some time later.

When I at home in the UK I will work on the problem which is probably teething troubles which should be solved with a bit of thought and persistence. I will report back some time later. As a smartphone user, but minimum app user by choice, I arrange my transfers through Wise via the desktop on my old laptop. From the start (I usually know what exchange rate I am looking for) to finish it is mostly around 60 seconds from log-in to Wise through to log-out with the exchange and transfer achieved and an email ping from our French bank announcing the arrival of the €€ in our account. Sometimes it can be a tad longer if our UK Bank is being a slow doing its bit or if Wise decides to send a code to my mobile wanting me to prove that it really is me logging in. So I agree that smthg somewhere is causing a hold-up in your case. You will find it - or the snag will come to light .. I hope this happens soon and that you will then be as pleased with Wise as I am. Looking forward to hearing from you again about this. Good Luck.

After the earlier failed attempts to transfer money between our bank accounts using Wise we tried once more with a small test sum. We still received a request to name both the joint holders of counts and the transaction was put on hold. This morning the money has been transferred correctly. Today we will repeat the process with a more substantial sum. Things are looking better.
