In connexion with a post I have made in the IT thread, I have another question.
It is a few months since I made a transfer and I have been asked for verification of identification in the middle of the transfer exercise. Does this happen each time now? Or is it some sort of occasional update ?

They sometimes send me a code by SMS to verify it is me but not very often.

I have no idea what wise is but with the amount of fraud and scams going on most companies like paypal now have to verify its you by sending a code to your mobile before the transaction is completed have you tried buying anything online now with your bank card you have your own buying security number from your bank. Paying for a house via your bank the bank now phone the notaire to make sure he is the notaire. So what you are saying sound about right unless they were hacked.

I had this request a couple of months ago. Hell of a faff getting the photos auto-verified, then apparently they have to check them manually anyway, and Customer Service weren't at all helpful in telling me what the problem with the photos was. Good luck!

Got it sorted. Passport photo sent and then when that was confirmed I restarted the rquest for a transfer and it went straight through. Assume it was an occasional update.

I haven't had that request yet but I suppose it will happen sometime. Every now and then they alter the pages that come up during a transfer. It always throws me and destroys my confidence in the system. Once I get used to what to do in what order I want it to stay that way so there is no mistake in the future. But no, they always tweak something here and there and until I check the result with my French bank I'm not certain of the result. Sometimes they ask me to do a customer survey to ask how the service could be improved. On every occasion I tell them keep it as it is and don't f*** with it but no, they can't resist changing it.

I seem to recall having to go through the ID process when I first set up the account, but it was for payments over £1000 only. I always keep mine below the threshold and have never been requested again after maybe 4 years .
