If allowed back in I hope that the criteria will be adoption of the euro from day one,no concessions on budget payment, worldwide income to be declared and tax payed on them.To name just a few. Amen to that.

Ithink that might be right, but, I never dreamt for one minute that I would actualy happen in the first place. I really do wonder how people can be stupid enough to be conned by charlatans. One never knows. edit I wonder if any of the incumbent so called Government of the U.K. will ever make it onto ‘the list’ ? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CharlatanMentioning lists share.icloud.com/photos/013UnY8E8Ebey9jbdNFuO46ew

If/when the UK returns to the EU fold, there is no way it will be accepted immediately into the Euro fold. It will be required to commit to joining but will first have to demonstrate fiscal controls to meet the Euro rules and guidelines. Post Truss, that may take a little while.

Speaking as an EU citizen I would be most aggrieved were the UK to be readmitted to the EU. The UK is a perfidious and unreliable partner with little to contribute short of its own self-importance.
Good riddance.

As another EU citizen I wouldn’t want the UK back in the fold. Since Brexit there seems to have been less conflict without the UK always complaining. The UK had its chance and blew it. However, that shouldn’t prevent closer trade and cultural ties as long as the whingers keep out of it.

not closer trade or easier access because you are saying its ok to leave and not have any consequences.

Absolutely no access which could include political participation. The UK has trade deals with the likes of China, Saudi Arabia and other states with dodgy human rights issues but they have no say in their political affaires.

The old bugbear of UK wanting to leave the club but retain privileges of membership. Feelings of "entitlement" appear to be part of British DNA when it comes to dealing with other countries and cultures.

I think it starts with the idea of royalty having leached into certain people’s consciousness. In actual fact they are no different to normal person. Assuming that a normal person is not inbred.

I think trade is OK IF it benefits the other members.

I'm not saying not to have trade deals, just saying that no special circumstances for exporting ie no customs inspection exemptions, full EU product rules.
