I learnt something today while doing our Impot on line. First tried it with my "old" laptop, got into lots of snags and problems . Went over to the Ipad and it all went through smooth as anything. Shame , as I prefer the laptop, progress.

Oh crikey; my 'very old' tablet has died, my old laptop is 12 years old and my newer one was a Win8 converted to a Win10 in 2016. So I have fingers firmly crossed for this year's tax declaration.

The programme said that I had missed 6 things out , but there was no way to do the input. The same place in the programme on the Ipad had a drop down menu attached. Good luck sue!

Possibly a browser setting or an extension is blocking dropdown menus. Did you try a different web browser on your PC?

Did you try a different web browser on your PC? I often swap from Chrome to Firefox when presented with similar problems and am so relieved when it works.

I need to change it , but when I last tried , I was told it would take 6 months because I wanted a QWERTY keyboard.Don't have the cash for it either at the moment.
I'll get round to it sometime , perhaps when they pay the Bio-farming subsidies!

Can anyone confirm that your UK State/civil service/NHS pensions are taxed in the UK so no tax is due in France. Also a few years ago my wife cashed in her ISA which had just one holding. This was done online and there was nowhere on the form to state what that share was or how long it had been held. Only recently did I see that if a share has been held for more than 8 years it attracted 65% tax relief and the social contribution part should have been @ 7.05%, not the normal 17%.

If you are permanently resident in France, your UK State pension (OAP) is only taxed in France and needs to be declared. Depending on the source, civil service/NHS pensions are taxed in the UK, but still need to be declared in France as you have to declare your world-wide income. There is an entry for tax credit for the UK tax paid on civil service/NHS pensions. They are used in the calculation of your tax bands. This is a good step-by-step guide in English which explains how to declare your pension and other incomes bh-assurances.fr/how-to-declare-your-tax-online/The monthly BH Assurances newsletter for May has just been circulated by e-mail so should appear online in the next few days bh-assurances.fr/eng/ The May newsletter contains specific information on declaring SOCIAL CHARGES ON PRIVATE PENSIONS FROM OUTSIDE OF FRANCE for those without an S1

I know that my wife was taxed too much on cashing in an ISA in 2022. I only saw last week that if a share is held for more than 8 years there is a 65% reduction in tax. I also want to clear up any doubt about the rate of 'social contributions' for foreigners when they are excluded from pensions etc. Instead of 17% it reduces to 7.05%.

There are one or two people in Brittany (and I would think elsewhere in France) that offer assistancefor not a large sum of money. In the mean time I would take whatever Elsie has said to be a lot closer to the truth, if not the facts, than some so called experts

It is not 7.05% and they are not "social contributions". It is a 'solidarity tax' (prélèvement de solidarité) at 7.5% for property and investment income and capital gains for those with an S1 which goes into the general budget (instead of 17.2%).
