There is an article in Les Echos today about possible changes from 2025 to move all the off-peak hours to during the day. This article ÉLECTRICITÉ : LES HEURES CREUSES POURRAIENT SE DÉPLACER DE LA NUIT À LA JOURNÉE gives a good outline of that article. Enedis proposes to shift off-peak hours to periods of high solar production, especially in the early afternoon during the summer months. This measure would make better use of the abundance of solar energy and reduce pressure on the electricity grid. The reduced rates offered in winter, particularly at lunchtime and at the end of the day, would be eliminated to avoid peak consumption during these periods of high demand, and consequently, a surge in prices.

In our old house we had overnight and afternoon. Very handy. We did too when we rented our first home here - so I would be pleased if it came back, albeit in slightly altered form.
