Violence against the other half increases by up to 38% after a football game goes wrong in the UK.
And that's just the poor woman who ask for help.

It's a terrible statistic, and even more so if you're the woman (or man) being battered. I wonder what makes men (and sometimes women) behave that way. We expend a lot of time and effort trying to help those who are affected, but I've never heard of anything significant being done to address the perpetrators.

Even though there is more said about the plight of women, we'd all be fools to imagine that only men behave badly. I've met some pretty intimidating women during my lifetime, and whilst they may not be physically stronger than their partners they are able to crush someone emotionally.
