We had a huge storm last night with thunder and lightning for a long time.
Wind turbines were erected about two kilometres away which we can see from the house but far enough away not to bother you.
The lighting likes them never seen so many strikes so close to anything before.
There are a few house close to the turbines hope they have good insurance.
She sat on the window ledge watching the lightning, I went to bed.
We did have a hail storm in-between everything else.
Not the night to be out camping.

The towers will be fitted with lightning conductors and given their height they are the most likely thing to be struck in a storm. As such they provide a degree of protection for other buildings in the near vicinity.

Not big enough to damage her Hyundai.😃 We did a house/ car swap for six months yeas ago. The people that we swoped with posted us a vid of our car on the front drive in a hail storm. It left the roof with a few little dents in it. We lived with them rather that give the garage and insurance industry thousands of €’s worth of business |

We bought a brand new Fiat years ago that was written off with hailstone damage on the back of a car transporter.
We bought the car from a garage and not the driver of the transporter as it sounds above.

Our Kango suffered similarly but at 19 years old - albeit with low milage - the insurance would just have written it off.

How big were the hail stones? One year living in the Aveyron the hail was that big that I ran down into the garden and put 4 huge hailstones in a glass and then poured myself a gin and tonic. |
