I'd like some recommendations for a new phone.
I don't want a 'smart' phone..... or a full-size glass screen.
I just want to be able to make and receive calls and texts…and take decent quality photographs….that's all.

I don't think you will find one which will give you good photos. You could get a basic phone tinyurl.com/yk3wae6d but most only have low resolution cameras. For not much more you could get a smart phone e.g. the XIAOMI on that page.

@ Crystal, as soon as you want a phone that produces decent quality pictures you get all the extras of a smart phone and full size glass for free..... You - or others - want to see your photos, so nothing wrong IMO with the 6 inch format. I'm surprised by the quality of the pictures of my Motorola G Pro. A snapshot last week, reduced in size to a forum compatible format (click to enlarge). Now selling for around 200 euros in Europe. If you want flagship features on a budget the price goes up.

Having being pushed into having a smartphone 4 years ago (for unavoidable personal reasons) I chose a Moto G5 .. as it was the smallest I could find with the functions I (apparently) needed. I have tiny hands and arthritis .. so needed a phone that would be the least likely to be dropped. It has been a brilliant introduction to the smartphone world .. no glitz, understandable format, no rubbish games foisted on me.
Take a leap .. hopefully you won't be disappointed.
