Chances are there is a pharmacie near you that does antigen tests (perfectly acceptable for travel to the UK). Your friend may or may not need an appointment. They cost 29€ iirc

Not likely at all, pharmacies may do antigen tests but for a PCR test you will need to go to a laboratoire or one of the dropin test centres that they operate.
Most pharmacies doing tests are validating autotests for the passe sanitaire which they say cannot be used for travel, indeed its written in bold that its only for use for activities within France, I had no problem travelling to the UK using one.
PCR tests are more certain but there is a considerable wait for the results which causes anxiety as travel has to happen within 72 hours of the test but it may take 24 or 48 hours for the result.
Whilst you may be the person to advise on where to get tested your friend should be the one finding out what she needs to do to return, as you say it does not concern you.

My partner has used this company for his Day 2 test on arrival in U.K. www.testingforall.org/product/day-2/They were recommended by Which? and were efficient and reasonably priced. (About £48, I think.) Your friend has to book the test BEFORE leaving France, and enter the reference number that she will be given by the testing company onto the Passenger Locator Form.

Mrs A, a laboratory where blood tests are taken may do the PCR test, ours do. My OH doesn't need an appointment and gets the results in the evening by email. For non residents they cost €44.

That's the one a gentleman did our tests and results under 10 mins. Lassey is a lovely village just not been able to explore much since we bought the house

Looking for some clarification please. Day 2 kit ordered from Randox for our arrival in UK on 1st September. Booking Reference number received, which I think I have to enter on the PLF (passenger locator form) within 48 hour window prior to travel. It says on the Randox site that I must register my kit with them, so that they can send the results. Is that done now or when I use the kit and post it back to them?
Also, does your negative (hopefully) result from the test you take before travel (in France) have to be uploaded to the PLF as well?

You kit ordered in the UK will instruct you in the procedure for testing and sending it back to the lab. I got my results in less than 48 hours. If you have ordered and paid for the kit before leaving France they will have acknowledged by email with the code to enter on the PL form.

Hi limousinlady. I'm just in the process of ordering 2 x 2day tests for my wife and myself. My understanding from the Randox website is that you must not register the kits until after you have taken your samples and are ready to return them.

Michael That is consistent with our experience with day2 and day8 testing at home. I would follow Michael’s advice but this should be explained by the supplier of your kit.

Always good to have a second opinion. We even ordered our separately so that we each received an email with a booking ref. As an aside, just in case you didn't know, we put the easyjet ref code in to get a discount to £43. No other information needed regarding discount code. We are actually travelling by boat.

Thanks limousinlady. I have been trying to find out about ordering 2 x kits, one for my wife and one for myself. I wasn't sure if I ordered the kits in my name we would only get one booking reference and whether it is possible to use one booking reference for both passengers. I'll take your advice and order each one separately in our own names and email addresses.
We're travelling with Brittany Ferries and using their discount code the price is £45 each. I know it's £2 dearer than using your tip but I think I'll play safe.
Have a great trip.

We are travelling across with P & O on a credit carried over from last year and couldn't find their code.
